This is the reinforced version of our popular RFID hidden cabinet drawer and locker lock.

It features behind the panel concealed metal enclosure housing with wider bolt (0.84" comparing to 0.5") and below accessories:

3 AAA batteries are not included.

This was a great purchase. Setup was extremely easy. Took me about ten minutes to install. I just wish the price was a little cheaper.

RFID hidden latch

Works as advertised. When initializing your “user” cards be sure to hold them over the reader for a few seconds otherwise they don’t initialize. Also not a bad idea to have an alternate way into your locked space. The manual specifies that an audible warning will be heard when the battery is running low, but you will still have several cycles left before replacement is needed. However it is my understanding that this style latch does not default to the “unlocked” position once the battery dies, so it can’t hurt to have a plan B just in case. My card is easily read thru a piece of 3/8 plywood, however with a piece of decorative aluminum screen over the top the card can not be read. I’m sure this is the same with all rfid readers., so not a big deal. Overall it does the required job for a good price point.

Just installed it. Works as advertised. Pros: Metal Enclosure, easy to follow instructions, invisible locking device. Cons: limited range (works through 3/4" hardwood, but needs to be placed very close to the spot), catch not adjustable (I wanted no play, and was a little off on mounting the catch, so had to shim the box slightly to get it to catch just right.) Would be nice if you could use a micro RFID key (something other than a credit card size).

Q: Can the RFID card be programmed to open multiple locks? The application I plan on using this for will involve multiple locks, and I don't want to carry more than one card if necessary.

A: Yes. the same card can operate multiple locks once following the user card programming process.

Q: I have a hidden drawer that rests on the rfid "plunger" - the drawer is too heavy - when I "trigger the rfid - the weight on the plunger is too great and it will not retract - thoughts?

A: Hi, Ron. Sorry to hear that. That lock should be free of pulling or pushing force in order to operate normally.

I do not fully understand your application. Is the drawer horizontal one? How heavy? Where did you install the lock? We carry another RFID lock which can work under certain pressure.

Q: Does this automatically unlock itself if the batteries die?

A: Yes, this RFID lock (P/N: SDWS-MC201) will automatically unlock by itself if batteries die.

There is another RFID lock (P/N: KR-RFID) will stay locked when batteries die. It accepts outside power for emergency operation.
