Cam Lock Adapter, Converter

I have cam locks on my GENERAC backup power generator. The cams use a round-cornered "square" hole instead of the more common "double-D" hold. I got these to swap out the GENERAC-provided locks on the unit w locks that aren't keyed LIKE EVERY OTHER HOME GENERAC UNIT in the country (AFAIK). Well, this converter was a bit large for the square-ish hole in my cams. BUT, with a vice and file and a bit of patience, I was able to get a nice, snug "press fit" of the converter and my cams. It worked well-enough, and the poor fit is attributable to the non-standard cams, not to this converter. Glad to find them.

Well, the adapter was slightly too large for the ACE cam, but fit perfectly over the Illinois cam shaft. After a bit of filing down the sides, I was able to get the CAM to fit within the square ace bracket . I'm not sure if there are slightly different sizes of cams, but I was hopping for a more user friendly solution. However, I haven't been able to find anything else like these adapters and I was able to get them to work to make my upgrade work when no other options were available. These allowed me to adapt Tubular (barrel ) Mechanical Cam Lock to my montezuma garage cabinets, using the existing locking tabs. I have not been able to find any through out any company and montezuma sales cheezy poor quality locks. If these would have fit perfectly without having to file the edges I would have given them 5+ stars. However, as I'm not sure if there are slightly different sized ACE cams, it is better they are too large than too small you have to be skilled to make this upgrade..

I have only been able to find barrel locks with Illinois style cam. If these would have fit perfectly without having to file the edges I would have given them 5 stars. However, as I'm not sure if there are slightly different sized ACE cams, it is better they are too large than too small.
